Online Annual Reports
Annual Reports
An annual report is a document presented to shareholders at the end of the fiscal year to show its yearly financial results and the outlook for the future. It is also called an annual account. The audited report (or in other words, analysed and verified report) is required by the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission). It includes an auditor’s report as well as the following financial statements:
- Balance sheet
- Income statement (or profit and loss account)
- Cash flow statement
- and a Review of Operations.
It also includes a forecast for future prospects and supporting documents. Along with the Annual Report, publicly listed companies are also required to filed a 10K and a 10Q. The 10K is similar to the annual report but more detailed, including the bylaws of the company, any legal documents and information on lawsuits, description of products and market segments, competitors, customers, etc. A 10Q (also known as a quaterly report) gives an analysis of the company’s quaterly financial results.
Online & Interactive Annual Reports
Standard Annual Reports usually come in a brochure which is sent out to shareholders as well as available as PDF files which can be emailed or found on the company’s website. Creating an interactive online annual report has many advantages over these traditional forms and can be done easily through a online multimedia company. Rather than creating an expensive brochure than many won’t read, an interactive report can be interesting and visually attractive to grab and keep their attention. It will save the company money as all it requires it to transform your existing PDF files into an interactive format- eliminating costs of printing and mailing.
Furthermore it can be made into a fully searchable document making it easier for your shareholders to immediately find what they’re looking for. It can also include interactive navigation, seamless integration with the company’s website (following themes and layout), and be SEO friendly.
